K.U.R.A is Valeria Di Sabato’s exclusive techno project. Their journey into techno began at age 15 at their first raves in Palermo. Starting as a sound designer, K.U.R.A has explored the connection between sound and physical space, collaborating with spaces such as Errant Sound in Berlin and Milan’s (T)Raum, both dedicated to sound art.
In 2020, K.U.R.A’s audiovisual work, Agnus Dei_beyond the faith, was featured at the TTT (Taboo – Transgression – Transcendence) in Art streaming conference at the Vienna University of the Arts. This recognition highlights K.U.R.A’s unique ability to merge techno with innovative sensory experiences, challenging traditional artistic forms.
K.U.R.A’s recent releases in 2024 showcase their dynamic approach to production. Their track Ansia was released with the Spanish label Clippers’s Sound on May 17, followed by Groovin’ in the Jungle, an independent release on July 12. On August 9, they released KAZE with the 133 Records label, and Fluid Groove, which came out on October 18 with the UK-based label Crudo Audio.
K.U.R.A has recently performed at the Sys Festival in Palermo, for the Yard44 collective, and at Zo in Catania with Fluidae.
